In 1969, Zenith changed horology forever by introducing the El Primero, widely regarded as the world's first automatic chronograph movement. Beating at a high frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, it allowed for time measurement to the nearest 1/10th of a second and remains one of the most famous calibers ever made.
